100 years ago today, our company founder Herbert Falk was born in Müllheim, Germany. He studied pharmacy and human medicine at the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg - at the end of 1959, he had graduated twice and he also had two PhD qualifications. In 1960 Herbert Falk founded his company "Remefa Arzneimittel GmbH & Co. KG". Just three years later he renamed the company "Dr. Falk Arzneimittel GmbH & Co .KG" and in 1989 “Dr. Falk Pharma GmbH“.

Herbert Falk organised the first international symposium for “icterus" (jaundice caused by hepatitis) in Freiburg in 1968 – with nearly 800 delegates from 17 countries. 10 years later, together with his wife Ursula Herbert Falk founded the Falk Foundation which to this day provides a platform for experts in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology. And with its wide range of literature and events, the Falk Foundation also provides continuing medical education to professionals.

Herbert Falk died on 8/8/2008 aged 84.
